Nebraska Cornhusker I-back Correll Buckhalter with college friend Brad Johnson and assistant trainer E.H. Pait, joined Dan, Carol and Daniel McWhirter at Ak-Sar-Ben September 21,1998 to watch McWhirter's home raised stallion "Absolute Investment" win the Junior Western Pleasure Championship.

Trainer Cleve Wells, Burleson, Texas guided the 3 year old stallion to his first lifetime win in a unanimous decision under both judges. The Nebraska Silver Classic Futurity was held every year in Omaha, and annually was Nebraska's largest Quarter Horse Show. That year the show hosted 1,304 entries from 20 states.
